About Us

Ormiston Utd

We are proud locals with a genuine passion for football and for our community.

Over the past decade, the Ormiston–Flatbush area has experienced incredible growth, welcoming a vibrant and diverse mix of cultures and ethnicities. This growth has helped establish strong community sports pathways, with rugby and cricket clubs now thriving at Barry Curtis Park. We believe the time is right to add football to that journey by creating a community-focused football club that truly reflects the values, diversity, and spirit of our local area.

Ormiston United has been formed with the community at its heart. As a new club, our initial focus will be on in-house, fun-first community football for children aged 4–14. Our aim is to provide a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable environment where boys and girls can learn the fundamentals of the game, develop confidence, make friends, and most importantly, have fun playing football with their peers.

The establishment of Ormiston United would not have been possible without the support and guidance of Sport Auckland. We are also extremely fortunate to have the backing of Fencibles United FC, a well-established and respected football club based in the Howick/Pakuranga area.

Through close collaboration with Fencibles United and other local clubs, we will share resources, coaching expertise, knowledge, and experience. This partnership approach will help us deliver a high-quality football experience while building strong development pathways for our players as they grow.

We are excited to begin this journey and look forward to welcoming you and your family to Ormiston United — a friendly, inclusive football club built by the community, for the community.

Katie- Director and Head Coach of East Auckland Futsal & Football Academy

Katie Hamilton is the Founder and Head Coach of East Auckland Futsal & Football Academy, delivering a structured, high-performance development environment for aspiring football and futsal players.

With over five years of coaching experience and having undertaken JL3 and C Licences, Katie has developed players from grassroots level through to competitive tournament teams. In 2025, she led her team to victory at the Taupō McCartney Tournament — a reflection of her ability to prepare athletes for performance environments while maintaining strong technical standards and tactical discipline.

Every academy session begins with structured Strength & Conditioning, focused on improving mobility, speed, agility, and movement efficiency. Katie believes athletic development is fundamental to long-term success, injury prevention, and competitive confidence.

Her coaching philosophy integrates futsal as a core development tool. The high-intensity, fast-decision nature of futsal accelerates ball mastery, spatial awareness, composure under pressure, and game intelligence — qualities that directly elevate outdoor football performance.  Katie also leads Futsal Kickstart introductory programmes for ages 4–10, delivering structured, age-appropriate sessions that build coordination, confidence, and early technical foundations.

Beyond the academy, Katie has held key leadership roles within the community. She served as Junior Club Convenor for in-house football (ages 4–12) at Fencibles United AFC, overseeing junior development structures and foundational pathways. She is also in her third year leading the club’s girls-only Fantails programme, creating fun, competitive and empowering opportunities for young female players.

Holding a Sport Nutrition Diploma, Katie takes a holistic, athlete-centred approach — combining technical training, physical preparation, recovery awareness, and performance habits to develop well-rounded competitors.
